The pH Dilemma:

Traditional Castile soaps are naturally alkaline (around pH 9–10) — a result of true soap chemistry. While higher than skin’s slightly acidic pH, this alkalinity allows the soap to effectively lift dirt and oils without stripping when used correctly and followed by hydration. For sensitive skin, use sparingly and rinse well to maintain balance.
